RescueNet
Re
lative Synonymous Codon Usage Neural Network
RescueNet is a new method of analysing codon usage variation. Based on the Self-Organizing Map neural network algorithm, RescueNet allows the user to:
- Identify clusters of genes that have similar codon usage patterns
- Identify genes displaying atypical codon usage patterns.
- Analyse a contiguous genomic sequence for areas displaying similar codon usage patterns to the major patterns found in a training set.
RescueNet is now available for
download. The current release is version 0.9 (February 2003). This is still a beta release of the software, so please
report any bugs that you find, or suggestions for additional functionality.
The
User Manual is recommended for the new user. Examples are also given on how to use RescueNet for genome annotation and for codon usage trend analysis.
